With several key elements in place complementing the new stadium which included improvements to Wembley Park Station and the High Road, the development planning process continued with the new Masterplan which included 5000 new homes, 10000 new jobs and related high profile mixed use development.
We delivered a review and assessment of the form, nature, effectiveness and delivery of the Masterplan’s key transport elements and proposals. In addition the scope, feasibility and contribution to Masterplan delivery of three of the identified key transport strategy elements was studied.
The study examined the key highway access corridor and junction improvements, a bus based strategy to provide efficient linkage and penetration to and within the Masterplan area, and travel demand management interventions to enhance travel by non-car modes and reduce the need for travel. This study was undertaken in the context of meeting the wider objectives and aspirations of the Masterplan, providing a high quality setting to live and work in and promoting sustainable development principles.
The study was undertaken between September 2008 and January 2010.
