Croydon TramBusiness Consulting – Fares and Ticketing Consultancy

What should I expect?

You can expect to be involved in projects from the start. New recruits commonly become involved with one major project in some depth, but can expect to be asked to help out on a number of others on a smaller scale, providing a ‘taster’ in a range of technical areas and project styles. Our clients and projects are highly varied in their objectives, technical content, scale and duration.

What would my role be?

You’ll obtain hands-on experience of industry at the cutting edge of transport smart card roll-out. This involves understanding the public transport ticketing requirements of various operators across the UK, capturing the details in functional specifications, evolving test scripts and performing tests with stakeholder clients and suppliers to verify the delivered software for each component, including participating with third parties in end to end system testing of the national smartcard standard.

You will be expected to be proactive in understanding how your own contribution fits into the wider objectives of the projects on which you are working, and to take responsibility for your own work. You will learn to document clearly what you have done and to draft technical notes or sections of reports to go to the client in a clear and concise fashion and at an appropriate level of technical detail. At all times you will be working alongside, and supported by, others in the project team.
