Social events
We are a very sociable company, with various
events taking place throughout the year across our different Divisions.
An
annual team building event takes place each summer and all employees
are encouraged to participate. Past teambuilding weekends
have included sailing
on the Solent, and activity centres at Skern
Lodge in Devon and the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. This
year was MVA’s 40th anniversary. We celebrated the event
with a dinner and dancing at Old Billingsgate in London for all staff
and their partners. Our employees flew in from all our offices,
including France and Dubai.
Staff organise a trip to High Borrans in the
Lake District around February each year. Depending on the
weather, this sometimes offers the opportunity for ice climbing
and the chance to enjoy beautiful clear days on the mountain tops. Occasionally
it even snows and you can try your hand at sledging or cross-country
ski-ing!
We hold a summer fancy dress BBQ in Woking each
year, and each Divisional office organises its own Christmas Party
and Summer events.
Sport plays a large part in our social calendar. We
have an award winning ladies football team, who won a 5-a-side
tournament organised by HPI Research for two years running. And
of course the men play too in most of our regions!
We have an annual Golf tournament for staff and friends and family.
This usually takes place around September in Woking.
Forget Beijing, if you can run, throw or jump,
we have our own annual inter-company transport consultants Olympics
event. Our team won this event for three years
running but finished second last year. The Olympics are held
at Battersea Park in London.
In the summer join in with the popular
Pint-to-Pint (pub crawl on bicycles) in Woking or take part in the
cricket. Or play badminton
all year round.
We also visit the pub reasonably frequently,
have ten pin bowling events, quiz nights and Ice Skating trips. If
there is something else you would like to do, feel free to suggest
it in your Division.
