| Nigel Ash |
Chief Executive |
Nigel
is a Transport Consultant with 20 years experience of road,
rail and airport projects around the world. A transport economist
by training with an MSc in Traffic and Transport Planning and
an MBA, Nigel combines in-depth technical knowledge with a
commercial focus that results in transport advice that is founded
on commercial realities.
Nigel has experience in developing and appraising transport
strategies at supranational, national and local levels covering
all transport modes, such as the Balkan Transport Study. At
the corridor level Nigel has provided advice on the business
case aspects of high speed rail projects, such as the Channel
Tunnel Rail Link and the West Coast Route Modernisation Project
in the UK and road and rail links over the River Danube between
Bulgaria and Romania.
Demand and revenue forecasting and concession
packaging for toll roads (real and shadow tolls) is also an
area that Nigel has been heavily involved in and he has worked
on over twenty-five toll road projects. Consequently, he has
spoken at numerous conferences on traffic and revenue issues
affecting such projects.
Prior to joining MVA Consultancy Ltd as
its Chief Executive in December 2004, Nigel was global Manager
Director of Jacobs
Consultancy’s Transport Practice and before that a Director
of GIBB Ltd. |

| Mick Roberts |
Director |
Mick
Roberts has over 35 years experience as a transport planner – nearly
20 of those at Director level.
In his current role, he is responsible
for MVA Consultancy’s
work in London and for national clients based in London. These
include Government Departments, principally Department for
Transport, the Highways Agency, Transport for London (TfL),
London Underground, SRA, a number of Train Operating Companies,
and the London Boroughs. Throughout his career with MVA he
has led much of the company's work in transport policy and
transport planning research. His interests also extend to social
and market research. |

| Steve Williamson |
Director |
Steve
Williamson is a Director of MVA Consultancy and is Regional
Director for Southern England responsible to the Board for
all MVA Consultancy’s work in this area, having undertaken
the same role for Scotland and Northern Ireland for four years.
He has 30 years experience in transport planning covering a
number of wide-ranging policy, highway, parking, public transport
and traffic studies.
Steve has developed a strong objective-led
approach to providing clients with sound transport planning
advice at the highest level. He is a leading authority on
the development and use of complex transport modelling systems
to investigate policy and strategic issues and multi-modal
scheme appraisals.
Steve has been with MVA since 1988 and
previously worked for West Sussex County Council. |

| Richard Crossley |
Director |
Richard
Crossley is a Director of MVA Consultancy Limited and is Regional
Director responsible for the Company’s activities in
the Midlands, Northern England and Wales, including offices
in Manchester and Birmingham.
Richard has over 30 years’ broad
ranging experience of transportation projects particularly
in strategy development,
master planning and major land use developments. Richard also
has extensive experience in the direction and management of
major projects on behalf of both private consultants and the
UK Department of Transport, including representation at public
inquiries and public consultations. He has been a presenter
of professional training courses on public inquiries and urban
planning. |

| Derek Moore |
Divisional Director,
Business Consulting |
Derek leads our Business Consultancy division.
He has 18 years experience as a management consultant with
Coopers & Lybrand,
Pricewaterhouse Cooper Consulting and latterly, IBM Global
Business Services.
Derek's focus has been on corporate and business unit strategy,
organisation design, price management, supply chain strategy,
cross-functional process improvement, general performance improvement,
corporate recovery and acquisitions.
His clients have ranged from Government (UK Ministry
of Defence), military (e.g. UK Assistant Chief of Defence Staff
- Logistics), and government owned, to Royal Mail Group, to
container shipping lines, freight forwarders, retailers, manufacturers
and distributors.
Prior to consultancy he was the Management Board member for
Franchising at an international air courier, IML (now owned
by UPS) and for Commercial Development at a major UK parcel
carrier, Parceline. |

| Richard Hancox |
Technical Director |
Richard
Hancox has 20 years of experience of working in a consultancy
environment. As MVA Consultancy’s Technical Director, he
champions the company’s technical staff development and
recruitment, and strengthens its reputation for helping clients
achieve their objectives through technical excellence and innovation.
Richard is an accomplished Project Manager
and Project Director, with strong analytical and mathematical
modelling skills. He has considerable knowledge of the development
and application of multi-model transport models to assist
in strategy evaluation, scheme appraisal and business case
development. Richard is the Project Director responsible
for MVA’s support to Greater
Manchester Passenger Transport Executive in their Transport
Innovation Fund bid.
Richard has also taken a particular in interest in the Aviation
field, managing the development of databases, models and software
which provide the basis for advice MVA Consultancy has delivered
in helping international clients assess the impacts of environmental
policies relating to the aviation industry. He is currently
leading our work for the US Federal Aviation Administration
to develop an Aviation Environmental Portfolio Management Tool
(APMT) to support future decisions on aviation environmental
issues.

| Dougie McDonald |
Divisional Director, Scotland |
Dougie
McDonald is an experienced Project Director and Manager with
wide ranging experience in transport planning.
He is an experienced manager of large and complex
transport planning, modelling and appraisal projects involving
multi-disciplinary teams and has particular skills in project
planning and budget management.
Dougie leads our business in Scotland covering the full range
of transport planning skills. He has extensive experience in
transport modelling, transport assessments, public and stakeholder
consultation, parking strategies, scheme appraisal, forecasting
and economic evaluation. His core skills are in transport planning
using multi-modal or mode-specific network models and VISSIM
micro-simulation models. Parking studies, development planning,
travel plans and accessibility studies are also a key interest.
Dougie has a sound knowledge of the Scottish Transport Appraisal
Guidance (STAG) and has been involved in its application on
many studies since it was first piloted on the Central Scotland
Transport Corridor Studies.
Dougie has directed the development of an assessment
methodology for the appropriateness of school transport pick-up
and drop-off points (PUDOs) involving desk research and a detailed
pilot study.

| Brian Sheriff |
Finance Director and Company Secretary |

Brian has over 30 years of Financial
Management experience in the Transport, Aerospace and Pharmaceutical
Industries, in Europe, the USA and Asia. A member of the Chartered
Institute of Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute
of Management Accountants, he also has an MBA. Sustainable development
and compliance in an increasingly regulated international environment
are key aims. |

| Barbara Manie |
Human Resources Manager |

Barbara has over 15 years’ experience in
Human Resources, previously working within telecommunications,
education and the public sector. Barbara is responsible for all
aspects of Human Resources within MVA and, since joining 5 years’ ago,
has been working to make MVA Consultancy the employer of choice
within our sector. Barbara is a member of the Chartered Institute
of Personnel and Development and has a MA in Employment Law. |
