What’s in a name?
Our pedigree dates back to 1968 when (as Alan M Voorhees and Associates, a UK subsidiary of American Transport Consultants) we were appointed to undertake a transport study for Tyne and Wear. Brian Martin, who had been Greater London Council’s Chief Transport Planner, was appointed as Managing Director of Voorhees’ UK operations and after some years the company was renamed Martin and Voorhees Associates in recognition of his role.
In 1983 the management of Martin and Voorhees Associates bought the company from its American owners and the company’s name was changed to MVA.
French Connections
In 1993, MVA was bought by Systra SA, an international rail and urban transport consultant whose shareholders are RATP and SNCF.
Management Team
MVA’s Chief Executive and his management team run day-to-day operations. The management team includes the company’s Divisional Directors, Technical Director, and Finance Director.
