The Government requires all local authorities to introduce
a Choice Based Lettings Policy (CBL) by 2010. CBL is a new way of
allocating housing through choice, giving customers a greater say
over where they live through a scheme that is 'fair and transparent'
for all. By offering more 'choice', the aim is to help build more
settled and sustainable communities.
MVA Consultancy was commissioned by North East
Derbyshire District Council to undertake consultation with existing
tenants, those on the housing waiting list, Registered Social Landlords
(Housing Associations) and other relevant stakeholders, to examine
their views on the new proposals.
