MVA Consultancy announces retirement of Dr Eileen Hill and appoints new Technical Director

MVA Consultancy has announced that Dr Eileen Hill will be retiring at the end of 2006. Dr Hill joined MVA in its Manchester office in 1989 from the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds. She transferred to the Consultancy’s head office in Woking in 1999 and was appointed Technical Director in 2001. Since October 2003, Eileen has been a Board member at MVA.
Dr Hill, an economist with over 30 years' experience related to the transport sector, used her expertise in the fields of concessionary travel and other aspects of fares and ticketing, transport strategy development, public transport planning, investment appraisal, regeneration impacts of transport, accessibility analysis, and demographic effects.
Nigel Ash, MVA’s Chief Executive said “Eileen Hill has played a huge part in the success of MVA over many years. We all wish her every success and happiness in her retirement and thank her for her tireless contribution”.
Dr Hill’s role as Technical Director at MVA will be taken by Richard Hancox from January 2007.
Richard has 20 years of experience of working in a consultancy environment. He is a transport planner with strong analytical and mathematical modelling skills and has considerable experience of the development and application of transport models.
Richard has also taken a particular in interest in the Aviation field, managing the development of databases, models and software which provide the basis for advice MVA Consultancy has delivered in helping international clients assess the impacts of environmental policies relating to the aviation industry. He is currently leading the consultancy’s work for the US Federal Aviation Administration to develop an Aviation Environmental Portfolio Management Tool (APMT) to support future decisions on aviation environmental issues.
