The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has appointed MVA Consultancy to undertake a corridor review of Hackney Road as part of Transport for London’s Parallel Initiative Programme. Working with urban designers Burns and Nice our design team will identify a package of integrated solutions for improving: pedestrian access and movement; cycle movement; bus journey times; parking and loading; street crime; and the street scene.
The proposed scheme will build on existing Local Safety and LBI Improvement Schemes and seeks to extend a similar quality of street scene to Hackney Road.
The project is being undertaken in three stages: feasibility; concept design; and detailed design/implementation.
