MVA Provides IMPACTS Europe Secretariat

MVA has from
1 January 2006 been appointed to manage the secretariat for the
IMPACTS Europe Network. Managed out of our London office MVA will
provide a broad range of support services to IMPACTS including general
administration, logistics for events and conferences, and website
management (www.impacts.org).
The IMPACTS
international network aims to unite European and North American
capital and major metropolitan cities to facilitate the exchange
of information and experience on urban mobility and transport policies.
Recently, the network has grown to include Latin America.
The mission
of IMPACTS is to provide high level City transportation officials
and policy makers with a forum to discuss the use of new technologies
to improve urban transport and travel strategies. It has a focus
on innovative infrastructure management systems and integration
of new information and communication technologies for transportation
management and mobility policies. This forum is realized through
conferences and participation in EU research projects. Planned events
in 2006 include the European Conference in Vienna (13-14 March)
and the joint International conference in Stockholm (29-30 June).
The European
network presently includes the cities of:
- Amsterdam
- Barcelona
- Berlin
- Brussels
- Budapest
- Geneva
- Gothenburg
- London
- Paris
- Rome
- Stockholm
- Vienna
Expansion of
this network of High-ranking officials to other cities is envisaged.
