The English
Regions Network, the umbrella body for the eight English Regional
Assemblies, is to develop guidance on Regional Spatial Strategy
implementation plans. A study undertaken by MVA will examine the
role of implementation plans in linking spatial strategy policy
commitments and infrastructure delivery and provide best practice
guidance to regional planning officers on producing effective implementation
plans. The study is due to be completed in July 2006.
Information for Editors:
Regional Assemblies have a statutory
responsibility to develop a Regional Spatial Strategy for each of
their respective regions. Planning Policy Statement 11 (PPS11) sets
out a requirement for the Strategy to contain details of how it
is intended the Strategy will be delivered, including an Implementation
Plan.
