Halifax Town Centre Audit

<< Go Back

Since 2001, the Halifax Town Centre Manager has produced an audit of the Town Centre, with assistance from Calderdale Council’s Chief Executive’s Office.  This includes looking at issues such as employment, activity and use, facilities, and crime.

In recent years, the Audit has consisted of gathering, analysing and presenting data held by various agencies.  The Baseline study of 2001/02 and the 2004/05 Audit also included a substantial amount of survey information obtained from users of the town centre and businesses located in the town centre.

MVA Consultancy has been commissioned by the Halifax Town Centre Manager to conduct the 2007 Audit of Halifax Town Centre.  This will include all aspects of the audit, which are, a postal/on-line survey with local businesses, an on-street survey with town centre users, and analysis of secondary data provided by other agencies. The Final Report will review overall changes since the first Audit, and draw conclusions from these changes.  MVA previously undertook two on-street surveys with town centre users as part of the 2005 audit.
