MVA Consultancy Strengthens Rail Team

<< Go Back

MVA Consultancy has made two significant appointments aimed at strengthening its rail and public transport projects consultancy teams.

David King and Adil Chaudhrey will be based in the consultancy’s new office in London’s Mayfair district.

King joins as a Managing Consultant in the Rail Planning team following previous spells with London Underground Ltd and Booz Allen Hamilton.

His main specialism is in fares and ticketing, with a particular emphasis on identifying the customer proposition for smartcards.

King will be expected to augment the work that MVA already does in this area – from customer research through to ticketing system design – giving the consultancy an unparalleled understanding of how to best meet the needs of both operators and customers.
Chaudhrey also joins as a Managing Consultant after previous spells with London Underground Ltd and Steer Davies Gleave.

His key specialism is in multi-disciplinary management of the planning and development of major public transport schemes.

Chaudhrey, who has further expertise in the development and presentation of business cases that have successfully led to government funding approval, will enhance MVA’s strong major scheme development and appraisal capability.

The announcement follows shortly after the appointment of ex-Strategic Rail Authority chief executive Nick Newton as the consultancy’s Director of Rail Strategy and Development.
Chief Executive Nigel Ash said the moves are part of an on-going strategy to grow MVA’s business consultancy.

He said: “We have chosen to grow our consultancy with the aim of offering more high-level advice to our clients.

“Adil will complement our existing line-up in developing major public transport schemes and will play a key role in further developing MVA’s exciting project management and business consulting offer.

“David will augment our rail planning team and together with the appointment of Nick Newton, these additions will add further depth to our strong rail consultancy team.”
