MVA Consultancy appoints Divisional Director of fast-growing business consultancy sector

Leading transport specialist MVA Consultancy has appointed a new Divisional Director to strengthen its growing business consulting division.

Derek MooreDerek Moore joins MVA’s 450-strong staff as part of the senior management team, where he will lead the business consultants in advising clients in both the public and private sectors such as investment banks, transport operators, DfT, Network Rail and airport operators.

Derek will broaden and deepen the company's capabilities in devising and supporting change to clients’ strategy, organisational design, and performance improvement programmes. MVA has grown rapidly in these fields in recent years with revenue growth in 2006 of 59%.

Bringing to MVA a wealth of experience spanning three decades, Derek joins MVA from his most recent position at IBM Global Business Services as Associate Partner and formerly at PwC Consulting.

His impressive track record of performance improvement, achieving turnaround and developing corporate business and operations strategies gained through management and consultancy assignments will be invaluable in the continued growth of the business consultancy division.

MVA has advised on the implementation of smart card ticketing in Scotland, First Group, Arriva and others on rail franchise bids in the UK and Denmark, and toll roads in France, Ireland and the UK for Bouygues, Cintra Concessions (Ferrovial) Eiffage and Vinci. MVA has now responded to the changing needs of clients by expanding its business consultancy division, focusing on supporting them through the whole process to maximise the potential of their own businesses.

At IBM Derek Moore was latterly focused on building its service business enhancing freight logistics providers globally. 

He contributed to two published points of view on performance change and was respected within IBM for the lead he took in building capabilities to match clients' needs.
