This is a summary of new work awarded to MVA Consultancy, which provides advice on transport and other policy areas, to central, regional and local government, agencies, developers, operators and financiers worldwide.

MVA, through client business planning, customer research and strategy development create solutions that work for real people in the real world.

MVA has been commissioned to appraise a scheme that revised the interchange arrangements at Hatfield Railway Station. This is a follow-up to MVA’s transport plan for Hatfield and the project is expected to be completed by the end of September 2007.

MVA has seconded a member of staff to the South East Scotland Transport Partnership to help with developing their use of Accession software. Accession is used to address all aspects of travel time and cost mapping using digital road networks, public transport timetable data and flexible, on-demand transport.  The secondment is expected to last for eight months.

MVA has been asked to prepare transport advice in connection with residential development on part of the Beechdown School site in Basingstoke. This work will include traffic counts and speed surveys. Stage 1 and 2 safety audits will also be undertaken at the proposed access. The work will also assess the additional traffic that will be generated by the site and its impact on the local roads and surrounding junctions.  MVA will also design improvement measures to the local roads and junctions.
