MVA Consultancy appoints Alan Shirley as Principal Transport Economist

 Leading transport specialist MVA Consultancy has appointed Alan Shirley as Principal Transport Economist within its Glasgow office.
Alan brings significant experience to the consultancy’s Transport Economics team headed by Paul McCartney.
During five years in the transport sector he has acquired wide-ranging expertise in providing advice on the Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance, economic appraisals of transport schemes, option appraisals and evaluation, cost benefit analysis, demand forecasting, economic impact assessments and business cases.
Key projects include working on the evaluation of national concessionary travel in Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland, the Port Ellen and Kennacraig Business Cases for Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited, the STAG Refresh for Transport Scotland and the Haymarket Interchange study and Masterplan on behalf of Edinburgh City Council.
Alan will be charged with supporting the consultancy’s strategy to develop its Transport Economics consultancy business throughout the country.

Alan joins MVA from Halcrow Group, where he was a senior transport economist.
