MVA Consultancy strengthens team with appointment of
Director of Environmental Planning

Leading transport planning specialist MVA Consultancy has strengthened its 500-strong team through the appointment of Peter George as Director of Environmental Planning.

Highly experienced project manager and director Peter has led multi-disciplinary teams on environmental impact assessments and strategic environmental assessments covering a wide range of projects and industry sectors.

With 18 years of consultancy experience, his project portfolio includes highways, airports, ports, waste management, renewable energy, housing, retail and commercial developments, water infrastructure and flood alleviation.

A chartered environmentalist and Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences, Peter has been involved in the assessment of environmental impacts at all levels of project development, from feasibility and design to planning consent and implementation.

He has also provided expert evidence and conducted independent reviews of Environmental Statements.

In his new role at MVA Consultancy, Peter will primarily focus on enhancing relationships between MVA and their existing partners, while developing new environmental services to provide clients with robust, sensible advice on environmental and sustainability issues related to transport schemes.

He said: “The environmental consequences of all modes of transport are being scrutinised more closely than ever. It is vitally important that these are properly addressed if we are to achieve the levels of sustainability to which government and the public aspire.

“I look forward to developing MVA’s environmental planning business and helping our clients meet the difficult challenges ahead.”

Peter joins from Grontmij, where he was Head of Environmental Assessment for the UK.
