MVA Consultancy to support first
International Choice Modelling Conference

Leading transport planning specialist MVA Consultancy is to support the first International Choice Modelling Conference.

The conference will bring together leading researchers and practitioners who specialise in using choice modelling techniques to understand behaviour and evaluate policy.

Keynote presentations will be given by Professor Moshe Ben-Akiva from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Professor Chandra Bhat from the University of Texas at Austin, Professor Michel Bierlaire from EPFL Lausanne, Professor David Hensher from the University of Sydney, Professor Daniel McFadden from the University of California at Berkeley and Professor Riccardo Scarpa from Waikato University.

Dr Gerard Whelan, national modelling leader at MVA Consultancy, said: “MVA is at the forefront of transport modelling, and choice modelling is set to play an increasingly important role at the heart of our consultancy.

“In its 40-year history, MVA has developed a series of modelling innovations which have helped shape the way the industry as it has evolved.

The conference, organised by Dr Stephane Hess, will take place at the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds from 30 March 2009 to 1 April 2009.
