MVA Consultancy has been appointed to assess the performance of the Highways Agency in delivering partnership services.
The leading transport specialist has been appointed by the Agency’s Influencing Travel Behaviour Team to research, monitor and further develop performance indicators and targets to measure how well it works alongside other bodies in delivering services.
MVA Consultancy will continue with work carried out as part of a previous contract, as well as providing on-going advice on how the Agency can continue to improve partnership work across all areas.
MVA’s multi-disciplinary team also aimed to promote the use of information within the Agency to improve partnership working and helped the development of a strategy specifically designed for successfully delivering collaborative services.
Tom Herring, Senior Policy Advisor at the Highways Agency, said: “The Agency works in partnership with a wide range of around 2000 organisations and stakeholders in order to help deliver sustainable transport solutions, cost-effective services and effectively manage traffic on its network. The Agency’s success is therefore dependent on successful partnerships.”
Julie Kumar, Project Manager at MVA Consultancy, said: “Focus on partnerships is an Agency programme that aims to improve partnership working within the Agency. We use a mix of qualitative and quantitative research and performance management techniques in order to monitor, understand and improve partnership working in the Agency.”
John Wicks, Project Director at MVA Consultancy, added: “As we are seeking to improve partnership working, our own partnership with the Agency has to be exemplary. The work we have done together since 2001 has been based on good working relationships, good communication and mutual trust. “
