MVA Consultancy appoints traffic and development director

MVA Consultancy has appointed John Colgan as Director of Traffic and Development Planning.
An experienced project manager and director with extensive experience in public and private sector practice spanning three decades, John has previously worked for the Highland Regional Council, Halcrow, and Faber Maunsell.
His practical experience portfolio covers all aspects of traffic and highway engineering including junction and link design, operational appraisals and technical audits of major road infrastructure.
A member of the Institute of Highways and Transportation (IHT) - John has also worked in area-wide traffic management, event planning, traffic signal design and development impact studies.
He aims to enhance MVA’s Traffic Engineering and Development Planning team in Scotland to offer clients the robust transport advice and quality scheme deliverables that can endure high levels of scrutiny.
He said: "Traffic engineers - whether in the private or public sectors - all operate with a common toolkit, but the skill comes in the choice and application of the selected tool.
“My key focus is to enhance the skills of the team within Scotland to provide the quality service that is expected, through the effective transfer of technical expertise and knowledge.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge and I am confident that MVA can offer public and private sector clients in Scotland a best value package of services within the transport sector."
