Study launched to tackle Harrow HGV problem

<< Go Back

MVA Consultancy will carry out a study focused on HGVs travelling through the London Borough of Harrow.

The work will involve site observation surveys and data collection and consultation with businesses to examine the scale of unsuitable HGV routing problems in identified areas of the Borough.

MVA’s multi-disciplinary team will review the suitability of directional signage and improvement measures to help reduce goods vehicle miles and inappropriate routing.

The study will also include consultation with local businesses, delivery companies, residents and business groups to gain feedback and outline improvement measures to reduce the level of HGVs on unsuitable roads in the Borough.

Kevin Ratnasingam, project director, said: “The challenge of this project is in securing business buy-in and working with businesses to ensure that their drivers and contractors comply with the set vehicle routing plans.”
