A clued-up team of consultants from the UK’s leading transport planning specialist has won the Transport Planning Society’s first national pub quiz.
The bright bunch from MVA Consultancy fought off tough competition from 90 teams made up of around 400 competitors across the UK to scoop the regional prize for the North West and joint overall winners.
The testing general knowledge quiz was made up of nine regional heats, with scores then compared nationally in order to determine the champions.
After eight rounds of specialist topics including sport, advertising, television and, transport, the MVA team outshone the other teams to achieve the highest score by answering the most questions correctly.
Geraint Moore, consultant at MVA and the winning team leader, said: “To compete against 90 other teams and tie for first place was a fantastic result and a bit of a surprise.
“It wasn’t easy – there was a round in which all the answers were numbers with the sum of all the answers having to equal the answer to a further question. So there wasn’t any room for error.
“Everyone from MVA enjoyed it and it was clear that the other teams did too – it was really
well-organised and and we will definitely be defending our crown next year.”
