Domestic Burglary Project Evaluation

<< Go Back

We used qualitative research to assess awareness and effectiveness of an innovative home security campaign. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of security measures that could prevent domestic burglary. It was built around 'Harry the House Burglar' who visited properties in a high burglary area of Chesterfield where windows or doors had been left open. The campaign also involved a campaign bus and the provision of home security information packs. We did focus groups with people who were aware of the campaign as well as those who were not aware. We reported our conclusions on the effectiveness of the campaign and made recommendations for its extension to other parts of the County.
