Calderdale Council has operated a Citizens' Panel for
approximately ten years. The Citizens' Panel is an important part
of the Council's consultation strategy to understand and monitor
changes in residents' perceptions of local services and quality of
life issues in the area. The Panel currently comprises around 1,000
members of the public in the district. In accordance with good practice,
the Panel is completely refreshed every three years and we have been
commissioned to undertake this in the Spring of 2006. The refreshed
Panel will comprise 1,500 members of the public who will be prepared
to answer questions in the Council's Talkback Survey or participate
in consultation events arranged by the Council.
