This survey was commissioned by the Scottish Executive
to assess the effects of new legislation to ban smoking in public
places. We worked in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh's
Child and Adolescent Health Research Unit to conduct a cohort survey
of
Scottish schoolchildren in November 2005 and November 2006 to assess
the levels of passive smoking before and after the smoking ban,
due in March 2006. We administered the survey, including taking
saliva swabs from the schoolchildren, and coding and entering the
data.
