We conducted a review of crime management on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service. The work focused on high volume crimes (such as burglary, theft and minor assault). We conducted sixteen focus groups amongst a range of residents and workers in London. These included gays, lesbians, bi-sexual and transgender, commuters, business people, ethnic minorities, young people and homeless people. The focus of the qualitative study was to examine the current working practices of the police and identify areas where the police could improve their services to Londoners.
