We were appointed by Cross London Rail Links Limited to provide pedestrian planning advice for Liverpool Street Station during the Parliamentary Committee stage of the hybrid bill. We provided pedestrian planning advice, aided by the use of PEDROUTE simulation modelling of the proposed Crossrail scheme and VISSIM modelling to visually represent predicted flow rates likely to be experienced through the main ticket hall area. In addition to this work, we developed a logit model to determine the likely use of proposed station entrances at both Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. A SATURN model was created to calculate walk times from the Crossrail station to adjacent land-use planning zones as input to the logit modelling. This methodology was subsequently applied to the proposed Crossrail station at Tottenham Court Road.
