We set up a Citizens' Panel of 3000 residents that is representative of the population of Derbyshire.

Panel members wereselected from the Citizens' Panels previously recruited for the seven districts and boroughs within Derbyshire County Council. People were selected to be broadly representative of the population of the County by age, gender, ethnicity, disability, area (i.e. district/borough), working status and housing tenure. The purpose of the panel was to provide Derbyshire County Council with a research tool with which to gain both public and customer feedback on its activities and policies. The project also involved the on-going refreshment of the Panel, replacing a third of all panel members each year.
