easyJet evaluation of priority boarding study

easyJet do not currently allocate seats or give
passengers a preference over the seat type or section of the plane
they sit
in. easyJet passengers board flights based on the time they check
in at the airport, with those checking in earliest boarding first
and getting a wider choice of seats on board. easyJet appointed
MVA to research both existing and potential passenger views on a
range
of future boarding options. Future options considered included
on line check in, priority boarding and allocated seating type. For
easyJet customers MVA used a stated preference exercise to establish
the value of different boarding options to passengers. For potential
customers MVA found out what level of saving would be needed on
their
current flight expenditure and what boarding options for them to
switch to easyJet. The survey was carried out online, using a panel
of respondents.
