The IMPACTS international network of European and North
American capital and major metropolitan cities was established in
the 1990s to facilitate the exchange of information and experience
on urban mobility and transport policies. Recently, it has grown
to include Latin America. The mission of IMPACTS is to provide City
Transportation Officials with a forum around the theme of innovative
infrastructure management systems and integration of new information
and communication technologies for transportation management and
mobility policies. This is realized through conferences and participation
in EU research projects (eg FREDERIC, and PLUME).
We have been appointed
to manage the secretariat for the European network covering the
cities of: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva,
Gothenburg,
London, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna and Zagreb. Expansion
of this network of High-ranking officials to other cities is envisaged.
We
provided
a broad range of support services to IMPACTS including general
administration, logistics for events and conferences, and website
management.
