LBI priority bus route

<< Go Back

Design work, assistance with public consultation and preparation of contract documents for bus priority and other traffic engineering proposals for route 65 (an LBI priority bus route) such that implementation could be completed by July 2002. Key sections for schemes were:

  • The Broadway/Haven Green, co-ordinated with West London Transport Strategy (WLTS) work at Ealing Broadway, but excluding the road section covered by route 207;
  • High Street/Bond Street area where bus operation could be delayed severely for several reasons including queuing for the public car park on The Grove;
  • The Grove to South Ealing Station where a review of waiting and loading restrictions was a prime requirement;
  • South Ealing Station to Lawrence Road and particularly the need for and practicality of bus lanes on the approaches to Popes Lane compared with improved SVD implementation at the Popes Lane signals;
  • Quick-win bus stop improvements along the route.
