We undertook a transportation/station capacity study
for Nottingham Station. The project also included a design study,
particularly in relation to transport integration, pedestrian circulation
and parking provision, and consultation with key stakeholders. Stage
1 comprised analysis, testing, preliminary proposals and presentation,
while Stage 2 coverered final strategy and masterplan, design and
development guidance, action plan, phasing and presentation. Key
issues included perceived and actual remoteness from the city centre
and adjacent regeneration areas, the need to better integrate the
station with other public transport services and lack of capacity
to accommodate rail passenger services.
