South and West Yorkshire Multi-Modal Study (SWYMMS)

Together with our partners, we developed a plan of
specific interventions to address current and future problems on
the strategic transport system, including rail improvements, park
and ride, light rail schemes, bus enhancements, freight initiatives
and motorway management interventions. The project included traffic
counts and travel surveys, development of a detailed model of road
usage and a strategic model to test and appraise costs and benefits
of transport strategies. The study also involved extensive consultation
with local residents, public transport operators, interest groups
and a wider reference group composed of representatives of relevant
organisations.
