Waverley Link Road, Rotherham -
an £8m link
road on the site of a remediated colliery and coke
works in Rotherham. A strong economic case is
not always sufficient to justify road building in the
current policy climate; the road’s justification is
that it provides access to a number of EU funded
developments so that transport problems will not
hinder further development in the area. We
appraised the regeneration impacts of this
scheme on producing an Economic Impact
Report.
