International benchmarking of transport policies
and their effectiveness.
The Commission for Integrated Transport asked MVA
to compare transport policies in a sample of cities around the world
and benchmark their
effectiveness at managing travel demand and maintaining accessibility.
The study considered the implications of different sizes and densities
of cities, social trends, the levels of investment in transport,
along with institutional and political factors that can influence
policy delivery and outcomes. The findings included recommendations
on good practice and some important lessons for UK cities.
