MVA helps clients to develop the business case for investment in improvements to public transport, new and reinstated routes and new road, rail and light rail schemes. We assess a scheme's financial viability but also its robustness in terms of environmental and political issues. Our work includes examination of the market potential for siting of transport and retail facilities, using sophisticated GIS tools.

As well as forecasting overall demand, we can advise on market composition with a view to detailed service design for new rail schemes. By applying techniques such as 'Stated Preference' we determine the effects of introducing improvements to services such as rail and air travel at the price customers are willing to pay. We also identify and analyse quality gaps, to establish the standards required to attract new customers.
