Increasingly, local authorities are demonstrating community
leadership. The Government has commended Citizen’s Panels as
making a strong contribution to local democracy. This places a responsibility
on the management of the citizen’s panel to ensure that it
is conducted to the highest standards as it is informing decisions
that are important to the whole community. The eternal requirements
of reliability, validity and precision are even more important in
these circumstances and we pay particular attention to how we assure
all parties of the quality of what we deliver.
