Through our research, we assist regional and local authorities to investigate issues such as crime, health and disability, housing and unemployment, to formulate policies and to draw up guidelines for good practice. Our work helps improve awareness of important social issues. We also monitor the effects of measures designed to overcome the most significant problems.

MVA is involved in several major 'lifestyle' studies, which are addressing issues such as poor diet, declining levels of fitness and increased obesity among children and adults. By applying more practical techniques, we are often able to secure local media coverage for our studies and achieve higher rates of response.
