Air quality and emissions

The need for environmental measures has increased with
the steady growth in air passenger demand around the world. At the
same time,
public awareness of emissions and other environmental matters has
never been higher. We can help airports and transport authorities
to deal with the important issues by predicting the impact of high
altitude emissions by aircraft, providing noise and air quality management
and evaluating benefits to local communities
A suite of programs developed on behalf of the Dutch Civil Aviation
Authority calculates the environmental benefits and the effect on
operating costs of a range of fiscal and regulatory policy measures
to curb aircraft emissions. We examine the socio-economic and environmental
effects of fuel and ticket taxation, route and landing charges and
other measures on atmospheric pollution by air traffic. We have also
used our modelling expertise to analyse the effects of the introduction
of duty on kerosene for aviation within the European Union.
