The UK Government's 'New Deal for Transport' launched
an integrated approach to transport planning, supported by the introduction
of Local Transport Plans.
Using Urban Traffic Management and Control Systems (UTMC), MVA helps
develop the strategies which underpin these plans - to achieve public
transport priority, reduce vehicle pollution, enhance conditions
for pedestrians and cyclists, reduce congestion, enforce parking
restraint and improve safety.
MVA is working on behalf of the European Commission, DTLR, local
authorities and Passenger Transport Executives, providing policy
development, feasibility studies, scheme design and appraisal, preparation
of specifications, evaluation of tenders and supervision of project
implementation. Our involvement in UTMC has also included ground-breaking
projects in China and Vietnam.
